I've felt all of these things and more. There were days when I felt like a great big loser, overwhelmed, lost, confused and not sure what to do next.

I wish I knew 5 years ago, what I know today.

I went in search of.....

JOURNALUTION. Yeah, I started a Journalution. It was great. I got a literary agent, sold my book to an amazing publisher, I was finally a published author, endorsed by Deepak Chopra. Louise Hay said my book was the best book on journaling she had ever read! It all looked really good. Living my passion, doing work I loved.

But there was one problem...

I wasn't making any money.

You may have heard me tell the story about my husband's comment:
"It would be so great if you had a hobby that didn't cost us money every month."

Whaaaaaaat????!!!!

I remember how upset I was by that comment. I mean, I was insulted! Who did he think he was talking to? I was a best-selling author and an international speaker!

There was lots of finger-wagging and "no you didn't!!", but quite honestly, my husband was right. I wasn't treating my business like a business. I had spent so much time & money just trying to figure out what I was supposed to be doing with my life, lost in the search for my passion and my purpose, that I had neglected the part of my business that actually made it a business-----yep, the money part.

So what did I do?

I went in search of ways to make my business profitable. That's right, I spent hundreds of thousands of MORE dollars on how to make money in my business. (money that could have been used for family vacations, college funds, retirement accounts). That journey left me feeling empty and a little like a snake-oil salesman. Not to mention the incredible OVERWHELM at all of the things I should be doing in my business; websites, tele-seminars, marketing myself as a speaker, writing e-books, information products, blogging, launching coaching programs - how was I supposed to get all this stuff accomplished and where should I start?

It was a completely overwhelming and a somewhat life-sucking process - it totally took the FUN and passion out of what I was doing.

I started asking myself:

Why does it have to be one or the other?

Why do you have to either do the work you love from your heart and struggle with the money part or go so deeply into the marketing of your business that you feel like the stereotypical 'Used Car Salesman' willing to do anything for a buck?

The answer is: You don't.

You can be recognized for your passion and your purpose. You can make a lot of money, doing work you love that's fulfilling. You can have a great personal life as well as a great business. You can be a fabulous in-demand speaker, write books, give great seminars with a large client list waiting to work directly with you. You can have the public recognition, awards, honors (if that's important to you) and have a happy marriage, great relationships with your kids, fun life (and great sex!)

You can feel sexy, vibrant energized, wear great clothes, take great vacations, have a great body, lots of energy, lots of laughter & lots of FUN!

You can support your family, live where you want to live, be able to go on vacation or buy your kids a gift without looking too hard at the price tag.
